KWC Tarus PT99 Springer (Clear)

Introduction
Ever wanted to shoot something at whim? Instead of having to charge a battery, find batteries, or gas something up? A springer is a great solution to the problem. Now, granted, most springers suck in terms of power, but can outrange/outpower a MAEG any day. With this springer I can critically wound a lizard in it's head at 8'.

First Impression

Bought this gun at Sports Authority on the other side of the island a while back. I REALLY wanted a springer at the time. I ordered one of those propane adapters becuase all I really owned were MAEGs and GBBs, and I wanted something I didn't need to gas up, or find batteries for, to shoot something.
HARD! When I was trying out all the springers at Sports Authority, the first thing I noticed about this gun was, DAMN this thing is hard to cock! Feeling that this gun had the hardest slide pull, I decided to get this gun!

Function
(Taken from my m9 review) Function... the most important part of the gun. I've read some where saying "it' doesn't matter if it's butt ugly, just so long as it does what it's supposed to do." A clear gun. Don't care what it looks like, just so long as it shoots. And it shoots great...

Ammo capacity sucks balls IMO. Only being able to hold 12 +2 rounds in the mag. Single Stack...

Update:Lee wondered why I said 12 +2. Well, the mag system works just like an AEG, with a gap between the action and the mag, so the spring pushes the BBs outta the mag and into the gun, so when you take the mag out, 2 BBs fall out, thus allowing you to stuff more BBs in the gun, than can ben held in the mag.

The mag design on this gun is great! There's a little notch you can put the ammo spring in and since it's not double stacked you can just pour in BBs no problem at all, making mag reloads in the field 10 secconds or less. Also, if you need to quickly dump your ammo for some reason (emptying a mag or giving someone else ammo, etc...) you can push the button on the top of the mag to release it!.

Hop-up is non existant on this gun i'm afraid, but range and power is awesome! Accuracy lacks a little on this gun. Either it's too accurate and i'm a bad shot, it's too light to aim with, or this gun just has crap accuracy. The power on this gun is pretty awesome. Being able to break skin on my bro at 10' is amazing for a spring IMO. I would guess FPS is around 240 with .12s

Overall, the stock power of this gun will make an execelent backup/last ditch weapon provided it's cared for properly.

Appearance and Build
This gun felt rock solid when I first bought it.Trades? I wasn't really interested, plus I don't really like Tarus guns, but aparrently I think it has trades. I love clear guns! I always like to see the internals and how they work together. On the other hand, most people into airsoft do not. The build on this gun sucks shit IMO. After heavy usage (rapid firing) the slide retaining pin on my gun broke. Couldn't find the pieces, couldnt fix, now using makeshift metal retaining pin (screwdriver that fits perfectly).
Gimmicks and Miscellaneous

Uhh... there's a warning on the gun itself... Quote:

WARNING: MISUSE OR UNSAFE USE MAY CAUSE SEVERE INJURIES OR DEATH. SALES OF THIS PRODUCT TO MINOR IS NOT PERMITTED

Eww... I don't like that...
My gun came as a little kit! Yay ^_^! Came with a sticky target (BBs stick to the target and roll off), and two bags of BBs, one shiny (emulate metal BBs?), the other yellow.

Overall

If you want a good last ditch weapon, need a sidarm, or just want something you whip out and kill some lizards at your every whim, this is the gun for you. If you want a springer for your primary and/or you shoot faster that 3 BBs per seccond with a springer, DO NOT get this gun, unless you plan on designing a metal slide-retaining pin.
